Have you heard of Camila yet?

They’re an independent girl group hoping to make a name for themselves in the world of K-Pop.

I came across the rookie K-Pop trio Camila after they released their new single, “Take Me Home” on April 8. They first made their debut back in August 2018 with their first single “Red Lips“.

They’re an independent idol group consisting of members Yubin, Choim (both are former members of the group Laysha) and Yuna. According to a Makestar campaign they launched last November to fund their current comeback, they refer to themselves as a “self-sufficient girl group” — no agency, no managers or staff. They handle everything from PR, to booking appearances on music shows.

I really like the concept behind “Take Me Home”. It’s a simple, sexy R&B song that compliments the girls’ voices. The music video is a little on the racy side, since it shows the girls wearing skimpy outfits and posing/touching themselves suggestively (it got a 19+ rating in South Korea).

Camila is off to a good start, and I hope to hear more from them in the future.
