Minecraft: Gotta get all the ore!

I started a new world. I wanted to upgrade to 1.4.5 so I changed my mods a bit. Unfortunately, some mods change world generation and if you remove them (or try to add them), the world you’re playing can break. Anyway, starting the new world, I spawned right next to a village! Right next to the city was a ravine. I called myself “checking out” the ravine, found a ton of different ores and ended up forcing myself to leave because I ran out of room to store it all.

I noticed they greatly increased ore generation in the game since I was playing the game during alpha. I never would have found that much ore so quickly. Not only was vanilla ore like charcoal and iron generation increased, the mods I’m using generates ore like copper and tin. I will have fun learning the new mods and expanding the game play. I think the mods add challenge to the game because the vanilla game (compared to when I played it during beta) is “easy” to master.

I’m looking forward to experiencing what the new world has to offer. Spawning right next to a village makes those first nights in the game so much easier.

  • EVE Online: EVE with friends = awesome!

I’ve been having a blast in the game. I can honestly say that EVE is much more fun when playing with friends.

I made friends early on, and ended up joining their corp, six months ago (but I was playing EVE for almost a year by that time). Recently, we’ve been doing mining ops together weekly and it’s so much fun playing with them.

So for new people, if you are given the advice to join a GOOD corp, it’s sound advice. However, pay attention to time zones to ensure there are people online when you want to play.

I do want to know: do you suggest new players join EVE University as a way to meet people in game?

  • Dragon Age: Origins #61 ~ Grey Wardens turn to Darkspawn when they die?

My apologies on the delay for uploading these. The Minecraft and Dragon Age: Origin videos were recorded on the same day and suffered a Fraps (the software I use to record) glitch, which has been fixed via patch, but makes editing the video recorded tedious. I’m glad Fraps fixed it quickly…one of the reasons why I’ve used them for so many years.

In this video, we learn about the joining ceremony. The lore brought up ethical issues for me. There is so much I think people joining should know before they join. If you knew the drawbacks of joining BEFORE joining….would you join?

Of course, that is why they keep it a secret. If people knew…they wouldn’t join! I struggle with the morality of keeping it a secret. For example, people sign up for the military knowing they could die, yet they still join. Yes, they draw people with perks but the idea is the same. I think. I suppose the possibility of dying in the military is less than knowing the joining greatly decreases life expectancy.

  • EVE Online: I had the blues. Then I got a new ship!

I got a new ship! I can’t fly it yet but I can’t wait until I can. I’ve been mining like a beast lately. In this video, I explain why I’ve been sad lately and how happy I am to get this new ship. It really lifted my spirits.

Yes, I have some Minecraft footage. I haven’t decided if I’m going to upload it. It’s funny hearing “The asteroid is empty” why playing. The game hates me. For real…it does! LMAO

Oh, and when I talk about old pictures in the video, I meant pictures from before I was born that are starting to fade, not pics taken in my lifetime.

  • EVE Online: Not a dark scary place?

I’m referring to these articles: High-Sec piracy is practically irrelevant and EVE is more casual friendly than WoW.

Basically, he is saying that EVE is not scary nor dangerous and it is more casual friendly than World of Warcraft. To prove this, he shows his profile where he hauled billions of ISK, said what he was hauling on his blog, and no one messed with him.

    What do you think?

If that “is” the case, and CCP tried to change it (at this late date), the game would lose it’s sandbox nature because it would be forcing people to PvP. Sandbox means having the ability to opt-out.

I recorded this a while back and forgot to upload it. Currently, I’ve started mining…even did some mining ops with my corp. Fun times!

  • Minecraft: Let’s talk about EVE mining changes

Get it? Mining changes – Minecraft…yeah…I crack myself up sometimes. :-)

I heard Minecraft was updated recently. I haven’t played the game in ages and that is when I came up with the brilliant idea of using Minecraft as my AFK tool while I filled my 1000m3 (6000m3 if I take my Sigil) cargohold (yes, I know…LOADS of AFKing here, right? /sarcasm). But, according to those complaining on the forums, AFK mining is a thing of the past because the Hulk was nerfed.

    Yet it was buffed.

I know, right? Which one? I came up with a solution!

And my punishment for daring to play Minecraft while talking about EVE? I died. :(

Irony: I mined while I uploaded this video. More efficient AFKing. I had to move ore every few minutes. I think it’s a good balance. Mining compliments a person doing something else while they progress, just like a character slowly gains levels when not in the game. It is one of the nice aspects about EVE.

  • Dragon Age: Origins ~ Me and my decisions

In a spur of the moment decision I decided to make a drastic change in strategy to have a potential different ending than my first play through. A decision that varies vastly from my personality.

This is my second play through of the game. I wanted to record it to compliment my Dragon Age: 2 play through and to prep for Dragon Age: 3, whenever that is coming out. I do not remember everything that happened in the game so I still have surprises, which I like. However, I wanted to do things different than the last time.

Which is why I decided to kill all the Mages.

I’m curious how this will impact the storyline. At first, I could not think of a way for it to come back and haunt me. Later, I did. The end battle where you have to recruit people. I will have Templars but no Mages.

    Should be an interesting fight.

  • EVE Online: She returns

Just a quick explanation on what’s been going on with EVE. More EVE videos incoming. Another one coming tomorrow…Dragon Age: Origins coming tonight. I’ll eventually turn chat back on but for now…I want to get back on track.

Channel wise – I will also be going back through the combat missions and adding the name of the mission to make them easier to find. Currently, only the Sisters of EVE videos have them.

  • SCP- 087: Obviously I haven’t learned my lesson

I was asked to play this and I thought, “Why not?”. I had fun…I dodged him a couple of times. I’m gaining skillz. o_O

In SCP: Containment Breach, I had to keep looking at the guy to stop him from killing me. In Slender, I had to avoid looking at him. In SCP: 087, looking away helps with survival. I wonder if there is a way out of the building?

Path of Exile: The skill tree blows my mind!

Path of Exile is a free online-only action role-playing game similar to Diablo 2 or, what many are saying, what Diablo 3 should have been. They had a open stress test so I thought I’d check it out. Many hardcore D3 players are defecting to this game when it comes out.

It is rare that a video game makes me speechless. You’ll hear my reaction when I see the skill tree. Holy cow…I’ve never seen anything like it. I was told there are over 1000 abilities in the game, of which a player only has access to 130ish of them. This should lead to some interesting builds instead of the normal “one optimal build” scenario that happens in MMOs.

I will be adding more videos from the stress test. So far, I like what I see.
