Guess who’s making a comeback? South Korean R&B and hip hop artist Zion.T is dropping new music on February 1st, and from the looks of it, he’s got something exciting up his sleeve.
Best known for soulful hits like, “Yanghwa Bridge,” “Eat,” and “No Make Up,” Zion.T has carved out a space for himself in Korea’s music scene with his smooth vocals and offbeat charisma. He’s also no stranger to collaboration, having worked with Crush, Dynamic Duo, producer Kush, and SHINee vocalist Jonghyun.
Rumors about a February comeback started circling on January 21st — and Zion.T wasted no time confirming the news. The very next day, he posted a teaser image on Instagram, officially setting the hype train in motion.
This was soon followed up with another teaser: Zion.T rocking golden vintage opera glasses. If the visuals are any clue, it’s looking like the singer will explore a modern take on the old-school concept.
What we do know is that the music video for the title track has already been filmed, with Han Sa Min — the director behind several of BIGBANG’s iconic MVs — at the helm. Speaking of BIGBANG, G-Dragon is set to feature on the new album, marking another collaboration between the two artists. Fans might remember their last team-up on “I Love It” from G-Dragon’s 2013 Coup D’etat album, one of the standout tracks from the record.
Titled “OO,” this will be Zion.T’s first album release since signing with The Black Label, a sub-label of YG Entertainment, in 2016. His most recent tracks — “Machine Gun” and “Knock” — were both featured on Show Me the Money 5, but it’s been a minute since we’ve seen a full project from him. That wait is almost over.
