BLACKPINK’s Lisa made her solo Coachella debut on April 13, kicking off Day 1 of Weekend 1 at the iconic arts and music festival with a bold, theatrical set that brought her alter egos to life.

Her set was a kaleidoscope of personalities, channeling the bold concept of her debut album Alter Ego. The 55-minute performance was split into five acts, each dedicated to a different alter ego—from the romantic, fairy-esque Sunni, to the controlling supervillain Vixi, the ever-curious Kiki, the confident Speedi, and finally Roxi, the rowdy global superstar who closed the show.

There were moments where you could tell she was still adjusting to holding a massive stage all by herself. A few nerves peeked through, but overall, Lisa handled the pressure with grace—and a lot of posing.

She even gave a sweet shoutout to her character Mook from the HBO series The White Lotus at the beginning of her set. “For The White Lotus fans, you might be surprised to see Mook onstage. This is her when she’s not working, you know?” she joked to the crowd.

Though none of the artists featured on Alter Ego took the stage, Lisa held her own pretty well and she shows a lot of potential as a soloist. Thunder and FXCK UP THE WORLD were electrifying (no pun intended). Born Again had a cinematic feel to it while Dream gave Lisa a chance to show off her vocals.

Of course, no Lisa show would be complete without MONEY, which is always a crowd pleaser. By the time she closed with Rockstar, it felt like Lisa had settled into a completely different alter ego—one that’s flamboyant, confident, and unapologetically her.
