What Season 3 of Hazbin Hotel Needs To Address

Main cast of Hazbin Hotel
Hazbin Hotel’s finale left open major arcs for Charlie, Angel Dust and the Overlords. Season 3 is where we’ll see what happens next.

After the chaos of Hazbin Hotel’s season 2 finale, there’s some story arcs left unresolved. Season 2 cracked everyone open. Season 3 is where the show either lets them break or forces them to grow.

The Morningstar Family Drama

Charlie finally gets in touch with her mother Lilith. Up to this point, Lilith has been a ghost who abandoned her family. She refused to pick up the phone, and built an entire new life in Heaven.

Season 3 has to explain why Lilith left Hell for Heaven. Why did she cut Lucifer and Charlie out of her life? And what does Charlie do when she finally gets the truth?

Angel Dust’s Trauma

Angle Dust’s guilt from being used as a spy for Vox should be touched on in season 3. In the finale, he leaves the hotel out of fear of being a danger to his friends.

His trauma, his abusive relationship with Valentino and the toxic dynamic with the Vees will probably reach a breaking point. Especially as Cherri and Husk try to bring Angel back to the hotel.

Angel’s storyline has always centered on him being a victim, a pawn. It would be nice to see spider-demon developa sense of agency. Where he finally becomes an active player in his afterlife instead of a passive observer.

The Vees Are Broken, But That Makes Them More Dangerous

Vox may be down, but he isn’t out. The Vees falling apart has created a vacuum. Valentino has taken control of VoxTech and has branded himself a hero.

The finale made it pretty clear that Valentino and Velvette only turned on Vox because his destruction would have taken them down with him.

That kind of betrayal doesn’t resolve anything. It just opens the door for more chaos. Vox he’s probably plotting a way to restore his reputation and wrestle control of his company back from Valentino.

Alastor is Back at Full Power

Alastor being freed from his deal with Rosie means we’re out of the warm up phase of his character arc. Now he’s at full power and has no reason to be contained.

Season 3 needs to tell us what he actually wants.

Why did he come to the hotel?

What is this grand plan he’s been building in the background?

How far will he go now that nothing is holding him back?

Alastor has always been the show’s biggest time bomb. Season 3 might finally light the fuse.

Rosie’s Motives

Rosie’s interest in Charlie and her hotel has always been suspicious. Clearly, she has a plan that has nothing to do with the goal of rehabilitation. What exactly is Rosie after?

Season 3 needs to reveal why she sent Alastor to the hotel and what she wants from Charlie. It’ll also be interesting to see what Rosie will do about Alastor after he forced her to fix his staff.

Season 3 has the chance to change the tone of the show. From a redemption-themed character dramedy to an emotional tale about survival. Where every unresolved plot from the finale becomes the engine that drives the next chapter.

If Hazbin Hotel is brave enough to follow through on the cliffhangers from the finale, season 3 could be the best one yet.
