Jennie made her solo Coachella 2025 debut with style, vulnerability, and standout tracks from her album Ruby.

On Day 3 of Weekend 1 at Coachella, BLACKPINK’s Jennie stepped into her own spotlight on April 13, marking her solo debut at the iconic music festival.

Following in the footsteps of her bandmate Lisa, she took to the Outdoor Theatre with a breezy yet magnetic presence, performing nearly the entire tracklist from her debut album Ruby.

The set wasn’t a flashy or extravagant affair. Instead, it leaned into a laid-back, festival-friendly vibe that still managed to pull the crowd in.

From softer tracks like “Love Hangover” and “Seoul City” to bold, confident jams like “ExtraL” and “Mantra,” her set felt like an audio diary—personal, stylish, and unfiltered. One of the highlights of the night came when Kali Uchis joined her onstage for their sultry collab, “Damn Right.” Another was when she performed the fan-favorite “like JENNIE.”

Unfortunately, it became clear at the start of her performance that Jennie seemed to be grappling with some stamina issues. She was visibly out of breath early in the set and struggled with the choreography at times. But to her credit, she pushed through and gave it her all. She made a clear effort to keep up with her dancers, and if anything, the vulnerability added to the charm.

K-pop idols are expected to be perfect at all times, regardless of whether they’re physically or mentally well. There was something raw about seeing an idol not trying to hide their struggles—and powering through with everything they’ve got.
