What to Expect From Fallout Season 2

Promo for Fallout
Season 2 of Fallout is set in New Vegas with the characters making tough choices as they fight to survive in a post-nuclear apocalypse world.

Season 1 of Fallout was an introduction into the world set years after the events of the games. We followed Lucy, her brother Norm, Maximus and The Ghoul on their respective journeys. Season 2 explores the consequences of events from season 1. Namely how far Vault-Tec will go in their quest for power.

Lucy and The Ghoul

Lucy and The Ghoul spend much of Season 2 traveling together while searching for her father, Hank MacLean. Lucy wants to take Hank back to Vault 33 to face justice for destroying Shady Sands. The Ghoul wants to know what happened to his ex-wife Barb Howard and his daughter Janey. The setup forces them to be allies as they navigate New Vegas.

Season 2 will push Lucy into situations that’ll test her morality.  She might find herself becoming more violent and less restrained. Not because she wants to, but because the Wasteland keeps forcing her into those predicaments.

Maximus in the middle

Maximus is back with the Brotherhood of Steel, where he operates as a loyal soldier helping expand their reach.

Having been promoted to Knight status at the end of season 1, you’d think Maximus would be happy.

The problem is that the Brotherhood is starting to unravel. With the power of cold fusion technology in their hands, internal conflict could tear the faction apart. And Maximus would be caught in the crossfire

The Vault 31-33 storyline hasn’t gone away

While much of Season 2 expands throughout the West Coast, Norm is still trapped in Vault 31

Thankfully that won’t be for long as he continues to investigate the Vault system. The deeper Norm digs, the more we’re reminded that the Vaults were never meant to protect people. No matter what happens in the Wasteland, the systems that caused its collapse are still influencing it.

Hello, New Vegas

The biggest change in Season 2 is its focus on New Vegas, with the city becoming a central location.

We’re getting more storylines about politics and the factions based in New Vegas. Their inclusion establishes New Vegas as a place where no single group is fully in charge

Caesar’s Legion is set to play a big role in the new season. Their rigid, violent approach to order contrasts with groups like the bureaucratic NCR. The Kings appear as well, only it seems like nearly all the members have been ghoulified. The Khans will also make an appearance early in the season. We’ll also see more classic Fallout creatures like the Radscorpions and Deathclaws.

New episodes of Fallout premieres every Wednesday on Amazon Prime Video at 9:00 p.m. EST/6:00 p.m. Pacific until February 4, 2026.
