ONE PACT Faces Uncertainty in Yes No Maybe

The rookie group leans into uncertainty with their boldest track yet.

Who is ONE PACT?

Five men, one pact. That’s the premise behind ONE PACT, the rookie K-pop group under Armada Entertainment. Jongwoo, Jay Chang, Seongmin, Tag, and Yedam officially debuted in late 2023 with their EP Moment. Pre-debut, they were already performing in Japan and Thailand, putting out performance videos for “G.O.A.T” and “Hot Stuff,” and building a reputation for themselves.

The name itself is a promise: One Impact. A single strike meant to leave a mark. Less than two years in, their fourth mini-album ONE FACT shows they’re dead serious about that mission.

The Song of Uncertainty

The title track, Yes No Maybe, is their boldest single yet. At its core, the song is about hesitation. It’s about that suspended moment where every option feels possible and none feel safe. The track doesn’t give you an easy answer because the point is that there isn’t one.

Musically, it hooks you with a slick drum-and-bass groove, layered over a hybrid of R&B warmth and 90s g-funk synth. The chorus is teasing, pulling you back and forth, trapping you in the same loop of uncertainty the lyrics describe.

Visuals That Play the Game

The music video doubles down on the motif of chance. Dice, signs, and shifting environments frame the group in two contrasting worlds. On one side you have the guys dressed in clean suits, bright backdrops which create the illusion of certainty. On the other end, ONE PACT is rocking casual fits, and dark, shadowed settings reflect the messiness of doubt.

The duality is deliberate because life isn’t one straight line. It’s a cycle of choices, both glamorous and gritty. ONE PACT leans into that tension with choreography that’s sharp yet restless, as if the bodies themselves can’t settle on a single answer.

Idols or Artists?

What does Yes No Maybe reveal about ONE PACT? K-pop often sells perfection: immaculate stages, airtight concepts, no room for error. However, this track is built on indecision. Tag produced the track, but every member had a hand in writing, composing, and shaping the vision. That’s not “idols following orders.” That’s artists building their own narrative.

By embracing hesitation, they’re declaring certainty in who they are becoming. They’re artists who just happened to be idols. It’s an identity forged through collaboration.

Yes No Maybe isn’t just a single. It’s a statement. ONE PACT is experimenting with ambiguity because maybe the answer is that you don’t have to choose. Yes, no, maybe: sometimes all three are valid.
