LE SSERAFIM is back with their new single SPAGHETTI. There are two versions of the track: one featuring j-hope of BTS and one with just the members.
SPAGHETTI is a fun, cheeky track that blends funk with pop and hip-hop. It’s witty and just a bit petty in the best way possible. The music video is an absolute trip. The girls crash into a gym with their food truck. They serve their spaghetti to all walks of life: drag queens, senior citizens, kids. After giving everyone their fill (and a few heads explode), LE SSERAFIM drives off to find more customers.
Stuck In Your Teeth Like Spaghetti
Group member Huh Yunjin came up with the concept for SPAGHETTI after LE SSERAFIM scored their first music show win for HOT. She felt like the group was starting to win over the general public. She wanted to write a song about that moment between love and hate. Where you consume something so much, you begin to question if you actually dislike it.
The metaphor is both absurd and brilliant. Just like spaghetti sticks to your teeth, LE SSERAFIM wants to be the thing that stays on your mind long after the music stops. That idea is reflected in the lyrics. They’re bold, confident with some self-awareness sprinkled in: The line “SPAGHETTI stuck between your teeth / Want to remove it? Bon appétit” sums up the song perfectly. The more you try to get rid of them, the more they stick.
A Commentary on Obsession
SPAGHETTI works because it recognizes a hard truth about obsession. The things we say we dislike often become the things we consume the most. You can scroll past, criticize, or pretend not to care. If you’re still paying attention, you’re part of the audience.
SPAGHETTI is a subtle, yet witty diss at LE SSERAFIM’s haters. The girls are basically saying it doesn’t matter what antis say about them. Because at the end of the day, they’re just as obsessed with the group as their fans. Even if it’s just to insult them, they’re still listening to LE SSERAFIM’s songs, watching their performances, and interacting at the posts they make on social media.
SPAGHETTI is LE SSERAFIM at their boldest. It’s funny, sharp, and confident. Beneath the humor lies a simple truth. The harder you try to forget something, the more it sticks.
In that way, “SPAGHETTI” isn’t just a song about obsession. It’s about inevitability. LE SSERAFIM knows they’re already stuck in your heads. All that’s left to do is smile, twirl the fork, and enjoy the mess.
