Why do most start-ups fail? Same reason why many commercial bloggers do not have the success they would like. Unrealistic expectations. Everyone isn’t meant to have their own business just as everyone isn’t meant to be a doctor, lawyer, police officer, etc. A startling number of people enter into the commercial arena with zero business experience, and without the inclination to take some classes (gain some knowledge) to help them excel.
Do companies need business plans? Rigid ones? No. Flexible ones? Yes. Plans are a good thing. Having an idea on how you are going to accomplish your goals = awesome.
Knowing when to delegate responsibilities is important. I use myself as an example in blogging on knowing when to do something yourself and when to delegate.
It’s a gift to be ambitious and motivated. Unfortunately, it is easy to become comfortable around people who do not have the same goals. That will impede your success.
Many bloggers give advice online. The problem is, as a reader, can you tell the difference between advice given from experience or advice given as opinion? If you are unable to tell, what are the signs to spot bad advice?
