Soobin Keeps It Simple and Sweet in “Sunday Driver”

“Sunday Driver” is Soobin’s invitation to breathe, relax, and enjoy the ride.

With Sunday Driver, Soobin rolls down the windows and lets the breeze in. He invites us to slow down, and remember how healing life’s simplest moments can be.

Released as part of TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT)’s The Star Chapter: TOGETHER on July 21, 2025, the solo track asks for the unhurried joy of doing absolutely nothing, together.

A song for when you just want to breathe

While the other members explore their own themes in solo songs, Soobin’s approach is almost defiantly gentle. Reportedly, he passed on a “sexy” concept that was originally planned for his solo. Instead he chose a mellow sound that felt more authentic to him.

Sunday Driver is light, catchy, and low-stakes in the best way. It’s the kind of song you throw on when you’re behind the wheel with nowhere to be. Or maybe you’re curled up on your couch watching the sunlight shift across the floor. Built on a soft instrumental and a soothing tempo, the track celebrates the joy of simply being with someone you care about.

The lyrics paint cozy pictures of shared routines: driving with no destination, singing along to the radio, laughing with someone who makes you feel safe. In a world that often demands urgency and spectacle, Soobin offers up the radical idea that ordinary moments are enough.

“Shall we go to the sea?

(Go now)

Even if it’s far?

(Don’t care)

As long as your hand is in my right hand

(My hand)

It’s fine

The car turns into our own coin-free karaoke

Even off-key lyrics are okay

It’s like Sunday for, Sunday for us

Even time moves slowly, slowly

A scenery that feels almost within reach, and the two of us like a dream

I take in every moment, deeply into my eyes”

This low-key perspective fits perfectly within TXT’s broader album theme. The Star Chapter: TOGETHER is all about connection, specifically the healing that comes from being seen and accepted by others.

A whimsical detour

If the song feels dreamy, the music video goes all-in on that mood. Released on July 31, the visuals are a soft blend of charm, surrealism, and slow storytelling.

Soobin starts by trying to fix an old car. He discovers a magical potted plant and decides to bring it along for the ride.

Together, they coast through shifting seasons and different locations ranging from the desert to the ocean. The video transitions into a hand-drawn animated sequence that evokes classic fairy tale imagery, like Jack and the Beanstalk. Then comes the twist: we realize Soobin isn’t driving his car at all. It’s being towed but neither he nor his plant seem to care.

Sunday Driver is more than a solo track. It’s a reminder for us to go slow and to appreciate the passenger sitting next to us. Because maybe life isn’t about where we’re going, it’s about who we’re riding with.
