TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT)’s Beautiful Strangers is an intense hip-hop track that tells the story of people who choose to love even when they’ve been hurt. It’s about unity and mutual healing that can make something broken look beautiful when it’s shared with someone who sees you for who you truly are.
“Just like you woke me by calling my name
Now I’m callin’ you, callin’ our heaven
At this moment, we saved each other
Don’t forget this moment…”
“It’s strange, yet beautiful (beautiful)
Even shattered glass seems to glisten (oh)
Your broken wings and my horn (yeah)
Scars, just like tattoos
They’re proof of our love, oh”
“You” represents someone important: a friend, lover or maybe a younger version of yourself. The message shifts from “I am saved through you” to “I save you”. From its dreamlike piano lines to its fierce trap production, Beautiful Strangers captures the vulnerability of the lyrics without losing any of its power. It’s a living tribute to a love that gives you strength when you need it most.
Why “Strangers”?
Calling the song Beautiful Strangers implies that the bonds we form aren’t inevitable. These relationships, regardless of how strong they are, started from nothing. They come from people who are unfamiliar to us and could’ve remained strangers, but didn’t.
That’s what makes them beautiful. Not because they’re perfect, but because we chose them. We decided to fight for these relationships and preserve them, even when the world tries to tear them apart.
Growing Stronger Through You
The song is the emotional title track of TXT’s new album, The Star Chapter: TOGETHER, which concludes their Star Chapter series. The album focuses on friendship, unity, and healing through reconciliation. Beautiful Strangers takes that one step further by exploring how it’s not about surviving something difficult. Sometimes it’s about rescuing each other through it.
For the music video, members Yeonjun, Soobin, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Hueningkai are trying to protect what’s left of their innocence. They flee to escape a city ruled by an oppressive new order. The post-apocalyptic setting is juxtaposed with happier times in the past.
Once they find shelter, the boys release a bright orb of light they’ve been hiding. There’s a countdown signaling that it’s time for the boys to separate. Instead, they let the orb of light grow into a spark they release into the world. The video shows TXT running hand in hand beneath a meteor shower born from the spark that was in their hearts.
The Symbolism Behind the Story
Everything in the music video builds on the themes of resistance and reunion. The group breaks surveillance cameras, hides in abandoned buildings, and escapes through tunnels. The mysterious spark symbolizes something precious they refuse to lose. It can be hope, love, memories of a peaceful time of their lives.
When they finally reach safety, that spark is revealed. But time is running out, hence that countdown we see later on.
Rather than wait for the end, TXT chooses action. In a symbolic moment, they throw the spark and light the path ahead. The final shot of the boys running beneath a meteor shower represents their journey from just getting by to playing an active role in their survival.
The Power of Us
The Star Chapter: TOGETHER closes out a story TXT has been building for about a year now. The use of horns, wings, elf ears, odd eyes represent each member’s personal pain and individuality. But instead of being alienated by those differences, they become stronger through them.
The Star Chapter: TOGETHER reminds us that humans weren’t meant to grow in isolation. Being called by name, being remembered, choosing unity over isolation. Even when those connections are tested and time runs out, TXT emphasizes reconciliation. Coming back together after conflict and choosing to rebuild instead of break apart. These moments define the album and Beautiful Strangers ties it all together.
Because… maybe what makes us strong isn’t being untouched by the world. It’s surviving it, together.
