Cowboys in a Space Western
The music video embodies a space western vibe. In space westerns, capitalism, exploitation, toxic competition and other aspects of contemporary culture are cranked up to eleven in the future.
Everyone is wearing strange masks that hide their identity. Sort of like how people hide behind anonymity online to be viscous without facing the consequences.
Stray Kids cast themselves as the cowboys, the bandits. Traditional heroes who roam the world with their scanners, blocking out the chatter. The video’s QR codes, glitch effects, and mechanical visuals are a commentary on online culture.
