Girl group ITZY came back swinging. On November 10, 2025, they released their mini album TUNNEL VISION, a six-track project built around the idea of “immersion.” The album is about shutting out the noise and believing in yourself when everything around you feels chaotic.
Bold Yet A Little Distracting
However, despite the concept being a solid idea the execution is all over the place. Tunnel Vision (the title track) is the kind of song that demands your attention. It’s bold with brass, a polished hip-hop beat and layered vocals. Yet the song feels like it’s fighting itself. It’s easy to get lost in the intense production.
I want to make it clear that Tunnel Vision isn’t a bad song. It’s not as catchy as their other title tracks like Untouchable, but it’s still a solid release. The track is confident, a little theatrical with a lot of bite.
Immersion Turns Into Overstimulation
Then there’s the music video. Filmed in Prague, the visual is a fever dream.
The director used multi-dimensional techniques. The camera pans are dynamic. Certain scenes can switch at the blink of an eye. The imagery is just bizarre. One minute, the girls are in a room surrounded by ants. Then they’re in a car crash. Then the world around one of the members, Yeji literally flips on its axis. Every frame leaves you questioning what will happen next.
It’s also… a lot. For a concept centered on focus, the MV is doing everything but encouraging you to focus. The visuals bombard you with movement or effects until the concept of “tunnel vision” starts to feel ironic.
That’s what makes the video mesmerizing and confusing. You can tell that a lot of thought was put into every edit, every special effect. Yet it’s hard to connect with the concept’s message when your eyes are being pulled in ten directions at once.
A Beautiful Chaos
Even with all that sensory overload, Tunnel Vision is one hell of a ride. The album powers through an eclectic mix of hyperpop, hip-hop and electronica. It’s one of ITZY’s most experimental albums, but it still carries the self-assured energy fans are familiar with.
Even when Tunnel Vision stumbles under its own ambition, it can still immerse you in the chaos. Maybe the irony is the whole point of this era. The world is full of distractions. Whether it’s one person trying to drag you into their drama or your own thoughts bouncing around. It can be hard to remain focused on what matters, but it’s not impossible. So I guess the real “tunnel vision” is learning how to hone in on what matters most, no matter what life throws at you.
